Driven by changing consumer habits, the at-home coffee market offers De’Longhi a strong platform for strategic expression.

In France, the coffee market remains solid, with average consumption of around 4 kg per capita and estimated revenues of over €3 billion. In a context that is otherwise challenging for household equipment, small appliances stand out as an exception. The segment of espresso machines with built-in grinders provides the most striking illustration: between 2019 and 2024, sales more than doubled, rising from 277,605 to 630,836 units. In 2024, out of the 2.3 million espresso machines sold in France, more than 630,000 were grinder-equipped models, confirming the rise of whole-bean coffee and a more expert approach to the craft.

This growth goes hand in hand with a qualitative shift in the market. Consumers are now seeking a holistic experience that combines ease of use, personalisation and sensory quality. Intuitive ergonomics, user profiles, a wide range of recipes, aesthetic integration and connected features: coffee is no longer limited to everyday consumption habits.

In this context, De’Longhi confirms its long-standing leadership in the espresso market, spanning coffee machines, grinders, manual espresso machines and fully automatic espresso machines with built-in grinders. In 2024, the brand recorded a 60% market share in France in the grinder-equipped machine segment, according to an independent research institute. Drawing on more than fifty years of expertise, the Italian brand structures its positioning around technology, design and emotion, conceiving its machines as true platforms for experience. This vision of coffee as a way of life resonates strongly in a market that has become a symbol of sharing and conviviality, true to the philosophy of the moment perfetto.
