OTZI x ZARA HOME unveil an exclusive handcrafted chair in limited edition
Zara Home has partnered with Otzi, the renowned atelier founded by Otis Ingrams, to create a unique, limited-edition chair.
This exquisite piece showcases traditional leatherworking and woodworking techniques. With only 30 units produced, each chair stands as a statement of craftsmanship and timeless design.
This creative collaboration celebrates traditional techniques and the beauty of natural, sustainably produced materials handcrafted with precision and skill at Otzi’s workshop. The design is an interpretation of a classic from Otzi’s archives, now reimagined through Zara Home’s aesthetic, blending simplicity and functionality with a contemporary feel. Its clean lines and ergonomic form create a comfortable yet visually striking piece that seamlessly blends into any space.
Legacy of timeless design
The combination of meticulous leatherwork, wood joinery, and solid brass fittings results in a piece that embodies both quiet elegance and quality. These carefully chosen materials, when combined, honor the passage of time and ensures a flawless finish and longevity that only improves with age.
Its frame is crafted from smoked oak, a natural finish that highlights the grain of the wood and gives the chair a refined beauty. The full-grain vegetable-tanned leather, finished naturally and undyed, will develop a unique patina over time, making each chair a one-of-a-kind piece. Handwoven leather cord is fitted to a traditionally joined frame, providing style, durability, and functionality. Solid brass fittings complete the design and reflect Otzi’s commitment to the nobility of materials and exceptional craftsmanship.
This chair will be presented exclusively during the Salone del Mobile, from April 8th to 13th, at the Zara Home flagship store on 12, Corso Matteotti in Milan.
